Update: July 20, 2017

Hi-

The monsoon has satisfactorily covered all our work areas.
Our progress has been as follows:
(Note-
First round => Fence , holes, plantation)
Second round => Seeds, stems of large/boundary trees/toor)
Third round => Seeding ginger/turmeric/sweet potato etc)
Sohagpur : First round 100% , Second round 50%, Third yet to begin. Completion target date 15th August
Amarwara : First round 90% , Second round 50% , Third will be done sparsely. Completion date 15th August
Umaria: First round 60% , Second round : 0% . Third wont happen there. We will put full workforce there now to complete it by July 30th.
Shahpura : First round 60% , Second round : 0% . Third wont happen there. We will move full workforce there from 1st august to complete it by August 5th.
Kachnari : First round 40% , Second round : 0% . Third wont happen there. We will move full workforce there from 1st august to complete it between August 5th and august 10th.
We may change dates between Umaria/ Shahpura and Kachnari work plan depending on weather etc.
Also, we now have products coming out of Sohagpur farms that need to be packaged, and marketed. To that effect, we will reach out to you all more and more. The economic benefits are 10:1 if we sell natural products direct versus chemical products to bulk processing agents.
Coming to a view of our designs in all locations:
In first stage, we are trying to establish a fauna base and limited operations in each place. Simultaneously, we will expand central capacity to replicate more plants, more seeds. As a result, what we achieve in this stage in this years’s budget, can be done in a fifth of it when we expand.
In next step (which will happen next monsoon) , we will add more diversity/layers to the established base and simultaneously rapidly expand the area.
Next step, ¬†Simultaneously we will add lowest layers (turmeric etc.). My wish is to it next year itself but it will depend on how our membership and sales ramp up, because this part of activity has huge huge ROI’s but it is quite capital intensive, beyond most individuals. That budget has to be borne out of our product sales.
Hopefully, it can happen next season itself.
Lastly, we have vastly improved on many finer things by taking up so much expansion. For example, we have figured out better and better ways of doing the fencing.
Starting with traditional 3 month fence, we have planted besharam etc along it. Now spreading toor, babool, karonda mulberry, bogun, etc. to make it a permanent , regenerative and paying fence.
Regarding the July installments, I will now send out mails. There has been 20% escalation in costs but we will stagger that over the year.
