Update : Jan 11, 2018

Friends,

I have returned to normal work after a long 4 months of gap where I had been looking only at urgent matters. The reason was that my father passed away after almost a month in hospital due to dengue, then mother also looked fragile.  Personally, it wiped out a lot of amount and has left some debts, as their coverage does not exceed 1 lac per annum while bills together were 40 lacs. This will keep me occupied outside Big India work for more time, mostly in Aranyaani. The front end order and delivery and community aggregation channel, with Aranyaani.in is almost ready. It will be launched this month.
Our online store will be live on : aranyaani.in.
It has taken me years to learn the process for pure breeds, and partner with many forest owners and dwellers. So the interest among PE is already high though we don’t see a need for it . Please see the Plan here: http://7avenues.com/Aranyaani-Dec2017.pdf
It should help Big India farms in clearing products from managed farms, and speeding up work and income. I think that at worst, we will manage farm work capex from June onwards and at best, we should be able to reap all Non-land expenses put in by various folks till now in 4 to 6 quarters.

I have put my thoughts about what we work for. Its important to jot it down while working in a diverse group.
Coming to immediate status, the survival rate and work is as follows:
– Sohagpur : Large tree saplings: 90% , small tree saplings/ fruit plants: 70%. Overall: 80%. Work in progress: Tomato etc plants and Expansion of chicks
– Amarwara :  Large tree saplings: 60% , small tree saplings/ fruit plants: 40%. Overall: 50%. Work in progress: Clearing of grass, multiplication of papaya seeds for monsoon.
– Banki  in Dindori/ Shahpura region: Large tree saplings: 60% , small tree saplings/ fruit plants: 40%. Overall: 50%. Work in progress: none.
– Chati in  Dindori/ Shahpura region: Large tree saplings: 100% , small tree saplings/ fruit plants: 80%. Overall:90%. Work in progress: caretaking.
– Malpur and Mudiya in Dindori Shahpura region: Large tree saplings: 80% , small tree saplings/ fruit plants: 70%. Overall:75%. Work in progress: caretaking.
– Kachnari in  Mandla region: Large tree saplings: 80% , small tree saplings/ fruit plants: 80%. Overall:80%. Work in progress: caretaking.
– Umaria region except Kirantal, Karonda and Kohka : Large tree saplings: 90% , small tree saplings/ fruit plants: 90%. Overall:90%. Work in progress: caretaking.
– Umaria region: Karonda, Kirantal and Kohka: Large tree saplings: 70% , small tree saplings/ fruit plants: 50%. Overall: 60%. Work in progress: caretaking.
Given that it is severe winter and then summers, and we dont interfere in unnatural ways (prominent natural way is grass or more roots around plant), there will be further dip expected by 10 to 20 percent varying from location to location. But it seems a decent effort given our density, method and costs.
Another item is that we didn’t get the amounts committed from folks till date. We have also left the forward payments unpaid and reduced employees where budgets are short. But will need to clear before new work or hiring. I will send some reminders in this week.
The pending item of agreements will also be taken over by Narendra and Manoj (cced here). I had discussed with most folks and got verbal/mail confirmation. But will complete it before new activities on land.
Regards
Sandeep
